Vertech group and Nutritional Sciences attended The second European Life Cycle Assessment Workshop that was held on 29th and 30th of April 2015 in Nice, France.

The event was organized with the support of the Metropole Nice Côte d’Azur. This event was the continuity of the first workshop held in Leoben in 2014.

The event was separated in three mains workshop. The first one gave and overview of the principles of Life Cycle Assessment, its challenges, its limitations and the last breakthroughs in the field with an approach oriented for SMEs, industry, researchers and technology start-up. In addition to this, Innovative LCA tools oriented to SMEs and non LCA experts were presented. The second workshop was focused in the application of the LCA methodology to solve different challenges in fields like biorefinery, building products, the use of innovative sources as animal feed, biofuels production, revalorization of agricultural and industrial wastes for green construction and improving the energy efficiency in tunneling.   The third workshop was centered on the application of the LCA in specific R&D European projects within funding different programs such as H2020, FP7, Interreg, etc.

The 2nd European Life Cycle Assessment Workshop also promoted collaboration among the different organizations attending the event, through the development of dedicated brokerage event sessions, in which the participants presented their project ideas, collaboration opportunities, posters and their capabilities to the audience.
